What will it mean for me?

July 25, 2022 (last update: May 30, 2023)

Anyone who works, or worked, at Ahold Delhaize (hence, employees, pensioners, and former colleagues) will have to deal with the new pension rules.

The degree to which something will change for you depends on whether you are still working at Ahold Delhaize, have left the employment or are retired.

What will it mean for me?

More information

  • I am still working at Ahold Delhaize

The guiding principle in the new pension system is that the pensions already accrued are also transferred to the new pension scheme of Ahold Delhaize. This is called ‘converting’. With converting, accrued pension entitlements are transferred to the new pension system. The value of the pension that you have already accrued is included in your individual pension capital. When converting, we carefully consider the interests of scheme members, pensioners and former employees of Ahold Delhaize. Ahold Delhaize Pension assesses the balance of those interests. Ahold Delhaize, the Central Works Council, AD Connect and Ahold Delhaize Pension will together reach a decision on converting.

The contribution will therefore be the key element in the new scheme. You accrue a personal capital with this, which is invested. The level of your pension benefit is consequently not fixed. How much you ultimately receive, depends, among other things, on the return on your capital. If you work, you will soon see the effect of the investment result on your pension on your pension statement. Your pension becomes more transparent and more personal, because you have a personal pension pot.
